i’m katharine
founder of equinebound, llc
Around the time the Internet got introduced to households (yes, I’m that old), my mom and I came up with the name ‘equinebound’ as my screenname. As an adult, I created an LLC and held onto the name for safekeeping.
I’ve ridden since I was seven years old, starting with hunter/jumper ponies, then endurance and trail on Arabians, and then back to hunter/jumpers. I leased a few horses growing up, but never had my own until after I finished college (Bachelor’s degree in English (minor in Economics) from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 2008) and graduate school (Master’s in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 2010). While at Trinity, I rode at Russell Equestrian Center and competed in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows in advanced w/t/c, where I competed in Zones (Z7R2), and novice o/f and flat.
Now, I’m the vice president of marketing and corporate communications for a family of logistics companies. When I’m not at my day job, I’m bouncing between spending time with family, friends, my husband, our Great Dane mix Ace and the horses.
